Some Help From Freddie On The Chinese Drywall Problem

    While this is technically a "servicing" notice from Freddie, this is a serious problem that is getting worst and worst by the day. Drywall from China is now affecting homes in 37 states, including Mississippi and even right here in Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Gulfport.  Mostly used in new construction, it's now being found in remodeling and renovation projects too.     Because of harmful chemicals in the drywall itself, it causes foul odor and corrosion of metals such as electric wiring, circuit brakers, pipes, etc.
    Freddie realizes that money needs to be spent to correct the problems caused by the defective drywall and is offering three payment abatement options on a case-by-case basis.

    3 months SUSPENDED payments, or
    6 months REDUCED payments, or
    12 months POSTPONED payments
